A confident and target driven New Business Developer Manager with the ability to successfully lead a team and work alongside the Sales Managers and Account Management team. The successful candidate will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for forming, upskilling and managing the office based New Business team in JHB, and providing direction to the Cape Town Sales Manager with the New Business requirements in accordance to strategy. You must be comfortable monitoring, managing and guiding a team making dozens of calls per day, and accurately identifying and qualifying opportunities.

What’s the role?
- Direct management and development of the New Business team
- Driving sales according to the company’s strategic product portfolio whilst providing feedback for improvement/change to the portfolio, marketing and key sales messages for target territories
- Implement and monitor team and individual KPI’s and KPA’s consistent with direction from the International Sales Manager
- Continuously achieve their own business unit KPI’s and KPA’s
- Monitor, train and develop team continuously on key areas:
- Processing, qualifying and developing new leads
- Accurate vetting and identification of new customers in accordance to the company’s business model
- Quick reaction to new leads and absorption of potential new customers
- Re-invigorating dormant accounts
- Accurately sell the company’s services and strategic products
- Maintain accurate data entry on the company CRM including setting up of new customer accounts
- Customer training on the company’s unique online retail platform including use of Solar PV system design tools
- Creating repeat business and maximising account opportunities
- Closely manage the leads and prospects alongside the New Business developers and actively participate and assist in the negotiation and development of leads and customers
- Continuous development of new business procedures
- Identify new opportunities
- Identify issues and resolutions
- Participate in regular management meetings and contribute to the business success
- Identify and overcome sales objections
- Market research
- Staff performance and appraisals
- Identify resource requirements within department and lead interviews

- Knowledge of the Solar industry will be advantageous
