Description Evaluate existing Safety and Health Systems, identify needs and implement audits and continually improve various Safety & Health initiatives in support of the Client's objective to achieve Zero Harm.
SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY
- On an integrated approach, through inclusion of stakeholders and clients, evaluate and report on SHEQ compliance within the Group through effective use of the SHEQ Systems in particular Safety and Health Systems.
- Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, record, investigate, analyse, direct and report on Group SHEQ status
PEOPLE
Consultation and Support:
- Ensure an enabling climate/culture
- Develop line of report to achieve labour stability by minimising labour turnover or placement through compliance to legislative requirement and subordinate development
- Manage performance against set targets and competencies
- Ensure subordinate IDP’s are linked to performance results and implemented as per plan
- Conduct career discussions and implement actions with all identified talent (quarterly)
- Ensure discipline is maintained
- Coach and counsel subordinates to ensure improved performance levels
- Build working relationship with sites (clients)
CUSTOMERS
- Build a working relationship with sites (clients) to ensure Customer Satisfaction
BUSINESS PROCESSES
- Identify Safety & Health requirements and determine the impact they may have on the sites
- Implement requirements to align with Behavioural Expectations
- Develop, align and implement Policies, Management Standards, Procedures, Protocols, Guidelines and Toolkits at Chrome Level,
- Develop Learning Interventions to support implementation of Safety & Health Management System requirements and facilitate Safety & Health training courses
- Facilitate external Safety & Health Audits, conduct internal Safety & Health Audits and monitor and report closure on Audit findings
- Report on the Performance of Group Safety & Health Management Systems
- Investigate Significant Incidents and chair or participate in actual level 2 and 3 and potential level 4 Significant Incident Investigations as assigned
- Monitor and audit the SHEQ Management Systems
- Facilitate the identification and assessment of Safety & Health Risks and H&H Monitoring Systems
- Report Safety & Health statistics and information
- Implement Safety & Health Projects
GROWTH
- Identify Continuous Improvement opportunities and monitor implementation of CI initiatives
SHAREHOLDER VALUE
- Manage the Relevant Departmental costs
Requirements Minimum Requirements & Experience:
- Relevant Degree or National Diploma
- 6 years' relevant experience, preferably 2 years' managerial experience
Advantageous:
- Experience in the Mining and Furnace operations
