Job Description

This position requires the successful candidate to work in accordance with the dictates of the practice and the team's deliverables including being willing to work overtime when necessary.

 

The working hours for this position are made up of 9 hour shifts between the hours of 07h00 and 18h00 and are subject to change according to the business’ and the team’s requirements. The incumbent must have their own reliable transport.

 

The successful applicant will work within the accounts team responsible for maintaining and reconciling of the general ledger balance sheet accounts for the firm and its related entities.

 

A general outline of the position is provided below:

 

  • Reconciliations of general ledger balance sheet accounts for the firm and its related entities;
  • Bank reconciliations;
  • Reconciliation of inter-company transactions;
  • Liaise with members of the accounts team to resolve reconciling issues;
  • Preparation of audit specific calculations;
  • Assist with preparation of audit working papers;
  • Managing audit queries during the audit;
  • Maintenance of group fixed asset registers;
  • Preparation of monthly VAT returns;
  • Income tax submission preparation;
  • Preparation and processing of journals; and
  • Ad hoc

 

Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • Proficiency in office administration and the relevant computer software packages e.g. Microsoft Word, Outlook , Excel and accounts package (Elite Enterprise/3E);
  • Sound accounting knowledge;
  • Client focused;
  • Tact, diplomacy and assertiveness are important requirements;
  • Proven team player, professional, flexible and friendly;
  • Possess well developed interpersonal and communications skills;
  • High attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Ability to adherence to strict deadlines;
  • Ability to work under pressure; and
  • Must be able to work under minimum

 

Education Qualifications:

 

  • Com or similar degree/certificate;
  • 3 – 5 years’
