Job Description

Are you interested in a Group Relief Sous Chef position that requires you to render your services across various properties? This position might be what you are looking for.




  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Certificate in Professional Cookery / Culinary Diploma is essential


Work experience:

  • Previous experience in the same or similar position in a 4/5 star hotel
  • Familiar with all duties and procedures required in the kitchen
  • Knowledge of the HACCP procedures

Tasks (include but not limited to):

  • Prepare and produce food of high quality and maintain standard of dishes
  • Ensure all mise-en-place is always freshly prepared and on time
  • Ensure that the correct HACCP procedures are followed
  • Monitor and maintain sanitation practises
  • Monitor the quantity and quality of stock received
  • Ensure that all requisitions are placed / ordered the night before and readily available for the next shift
  • Available for stock take
  • Responsibility towards training and development courses
  • Available to travel to all properties and work extended hours when necessary
  • Be a line cook that is hands on with plating skills versus office/admin Chef.
